University Of Jammu
The University, since its establishment in 1969 vide Kashmir And Jammu Universities Act,It has grown and developed as one of India’s prestigious universities with its commitment and focus on its core functions of teaching, research, publication, examination and extension.
The University offers around seventy postgraduate and undergraduate courses in different faculties. Our research programmes range across many disciplines, imparting Ph.D. in 37 and M.Phil. in 26 disciplines. The University of Jammu is an affiliating University; 126 colleges have been affiliated with it. Our main campus, apart from the teaching departments, also houses the Directorate of Distance Education which has an enrollment of about 2800 students at the undergraduate level and about 8400 students at the post graduate level. The University has seven functional campuses located at Bhaderwah, Kathua, Reasi, Ramnagar, Udhampur, Kishtwar and Poonch. These campuses offer various programmes to meet the demand and aspirations of the people living in these areas.

University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) : Lecturer/ Teaching Assistant in Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics/ Graphics/ Machine Drawing (Mechanical Engineering Branch), Engineering Math, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Communication skills, Humanities Social Science and Management (MBA).
Qualification for Lecturer-
1. Good Academic Record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. NET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Lecturers in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
#Candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions.
#BE/B.Tech & ME/M.Tech. in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech. in UIET for the post of Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics/ Graphics/ Machine Drawing (Mechanical Engineering Branch)
Important - 1. Candidates seeking exemption from NET/SLET/SET are required to produce a bona-fide certificate from the concerned University(s) to the effect that the said candidate has been awarded PhD. Degree in conformity with the UGC Regulations i.e. all the conditions laid down in University Grants Commission (minimum standards and procedure for Award of PhD. Degree) Regulations, 2009 are fulfilled by them at the time of submitting their PhD, thesis).
2. In case the eligible candidates possessing NET/SET/Ph.D. are not available/suitable, the candidates having Master’s degree with 55% may also be considered as Teaching Assistants. Their salary shall be as per University norms.
Selection Criteria for the Post of Lecturers :-
(a) Academic Record and Research Performance (50 marks)
(b) Assessment of Domain Knowledge and Teaching Skills (30 marks)
*Teaching experience 10 marks on pro rata basis (2 points per academic year for P.G Teaching and 1 point per academic year for UG Teaching) and
*20 marks for teaching skills based on a lecture on a topic in a subject.
(c) Interview performance (20 marks).
A candidate will be selected only if he/she is able to score at least 50% marks in category (b) & (c) mentioned above separately.
