Hindu College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, Established in 1899, it is widely regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges for arts and sciences in India.It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in sciences, Humanities Social Science and commerce.
Hindu College is Developing and disseminating standards of excellence in pedagogy and institution building and Providing a systematized and durable mechanism for conscious and continuing self-evaluation, introspection, and improvement in the overall performance of the College and Conceptualize, plan and implement quality initiatives and regularly evaluate the same.College is Providing a forum for students and alumni to participate in strengthening the academic standards of the institution. The cell shall receive and evaluate feedback from students, parents, alumni, and other stake holders as well as the society at large on an ongoing basis and strive to make quality consciousness an institutional paradigm.
The college has a 25-acre campus. It also has one auditorium and a seminar room.The college maintains a playground and a sports complex. Basketball , Cricket and Table Tennis are organised under the supervision of the Director of Physical Education.

Qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor in the University Colleges

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:
I. For the disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences,
Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Journalism & Mass Communication and
Physical Education.

Eligibility -

1) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the
grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant /allied subject from an Indian University, or
an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
2) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR (exemption from NET shall be
granted in accordance with clause (ii) & (iii) of General Note in the last section of this
document).
Or

The PhD. degree has been obtained from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among
top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i)
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) The Academic
Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai)

For Education-
colleges where under graduate programmes i.e. B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. are offered, guidelines
given by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) shall apply.
a) Master’s degree in Sciences / Humanities / Arts/ Commerce with 55% marks and M.Ed.
from a recognized University with at least 55% marks.
b) Perspectives in Education or Foundation courses

 For B.Ed.
Master’s degree in Social Sciences with 55% marks and M.Ed. from a recognized
University with at least 55% marks.
OR
Post-graduate in Education with minimum 55% marks and B.Ed./B.El.Ed.each with 55%
marks.
